The Henry Peterson History Room
The local history room at the Grantsburg Public Library is a repository for local archival records documenting the early settlement and subsequent development of Grantsburg and the surrounding area.
On file are: census reports; cemetery records; birth, death, and marriage records; obituaries; (some) school and church histories; homestead dates and locations; area maps; books pertaining to local people, history, plat books, and other various historical reports; and micro-filmed copies of more than a century of Grantsburg newspapers.
There is also a large file containing local family histories, donated by family historians and placed in our archives. If you have another local family story, please consider donating it to our collection!
Assistance in accessing and using these resources can be secured by appointment only. Please call the Grantsburg Library at 715-463-2244 to make an appointment for help from one of our volunteer historians.
The Grantsburg Area Historical Society would appreciate your monetary donation for the use of its resources.
